Your novel.
30 days. Let’s write.
The participation guide to Publishme Novel November 2026.
This November, turn an unfinished idea into a manuscript with writers working alongside you. Publishme’s own writing challenge is free to enter. You can write independently or use the AI tools available on your plan.
The dates, in one timezone
- Joining opens November 1, 2026 at 00:00 UTC and closes November 21 at 00:00 UTC (through November 20).
- Scoring opens November 1 at 00:00 UTC and closes December 1 at 00:00 UTC (through November 30).
- Every writing day resets at midnight UTC. Your device timezone does not change the campaign clock.
- The dashboard announcement is visible in advance. Joining becomes available on November 1.
Enter with a new novel
Sign in, choose a public display name or pseudonym and your targets, accept these rules, then complete the existing project wizard. Registration and creation happen together. Only one new project per account can be registered; you cannot switch an entry to an older manuscript. The dedicated campaign entry is available to free, trial and paid users, including AI-credit-pack purchasers.
Choose your rhythm
The daily target starts at 1,500 words; 2,000 is a suggested stretch goal. The personal manuscript target starts at 40,000 words. You may increase either when joining. Campaign targets are fixed after registration even if you later change ordinary project settings.
A higher daily target makes a streak day harder to reach. A higher manuscript target reduces your completion percentage for the same word count. Total words remain the primary ranking measure. At 1,500 words every day, you would reach 45,000 words; the 40,000-word challenge allows room for rest days.
What counts as writing?
Publishme stores manuscript snapshots rather than a complete word-level edit history. For this campaign, eligible words are increases beyond your registered project’s previous highest saved manuscript word count. The count covers all manuscript files in that project, not notes, descriptions, characters or unrelated projects.
- Only successful server saves during the scoring window count, including brainstorm content sent to the registered manuscript.
- Saving the same text, changing formatting, or deleting then restoring the same word count adds no points. New growth above the previous peak counts again.
- Deleting text does not remove points already earned. This is a growth record, not a final manuscript-length certification.
- Writing saved before November or after November is excluded. Offline work counts when it is successfully saved to the server; save before midnight UTC to count toward that day.
- Manual and AI-assisted writing count equally. Paste and authorship provenance cannot be reliably detected. Participants agree to enter new November writing, not paste pre-existing manuscripts or inflate word counts with repeated text.
- Authorised collaborator edits in the registered project contribute to that project’s entry; they do not create additional leaderboard entries.
The leaderboard
Writers rank by total eligible words, then current daily-target streak, then percentage of their personal manuscript goal. Earlier registration and a stable entry identifier resolve exact ties. A day counts toward the streak only when its daily target is met. An unfinished current day preserves yesterday’s streak until the day ends. After November, the streak is frozen as of the final campaign day.
Every participant appears on the public leaderboard under their chosen name with words, progress, streak and completion status. There is no hidden-participation option. You can update your public pseudonym on the challenge page. We do not publish your email, manuscript text or project title there. Keep private information out of your display name.
Deleted projects and unavailable accounts are excluded. Deleting a campaign project does not create a second registration slot; contact support if you need help. The project remains yours after November and you can continue writing without changing the frozen campaign score.
Finish, celebrate, keep writing
You complete the community challenge at 40,000 eligible words, even if you set a higher personal goal. The progress view shows your personal goal separately. Completion is a writing milestone, not a publishing-quality or originality certification. This campaign does not promise prizes, cash or paid placement.
